First crash in decades

Today I had the first crash in probably 30 years - Because I've been off the bike for 25 years.

Fortunately it happened at zero speed. In fact, zero speed is *why* it happened. I stopped to make a small adjustment. Afterwards, I clipped in the left pedal, noticing that the road had a bit of uphill slope. "No biggie," I thought. "I can get the right shoe clipped in before stalling out."

Well, that was wrong. I'm rusty at that move. So the pedal did a triple toe loop, which I followed with a double klutz. No harm came from the fall - and that includes my pride. I've none of that left. Looking great there, grandpa.

How often you come off a bike, is in proportion to how many risks you take. I come off, maybe once a year. But it is a bicycle, at relatively low speed. If you ride through enough mud, you will come off occasionally.

Sorry, doesn’t qualify as a crash, more like a fall. Glad you are ok and no harm in falling . I still use traps and straps so I haven’t done that maneuver but pretty much everything else. We all have “those days” if we ride frequently and for enough years. I have ended up in a ditch upside down still clutching my bike after my front wheel catching a rut in the road. Things happen and never at a good time. Keep on pedaling!

I'm actually considering a switch from Shimano SPD-SL pedals to the Wahoo Speedplay, just because the Wahoos are dual sided. I just have to check the release tension somehow, because twisting my left leg with force to release my foot would result in my kneecap popping off.

I guess I've never crashed then. Certainly nothing that led to road rash. I did slam into a buddy who suddenly stopped accelerating once.

Edit: I followed the link. LMFAO!!! Thanks for that, hahahaha!!!

Remember Arte Johnson on Laugh-In tipping over on his way too small tricycle? Kinda like that.

Done that on our tandem a few times and capsized. No fun for the stoker!

I crashed on the trainer once no joke. I still don't exactly know what was going on but I starting to really push the pedals and the bike came up out of the trainer and I went right over. I think I must not have had it locked in but was ok no damage done to me or bike.

SORRY but I'm thinking you still remain CRASH FREE since you were not moving and thus it was only a FALL
