My package is here. Not to brag, but I've got a big stem.

Don't judge me solely on my last two posts, please.

We will need to examine that stem. My R3 came with FSA SL-K stuff, which is pretty nice and similarly priced.

And speaking of weak reasons for buying decisions: 1° totally sold me. The Cervelo is an 8° stem, made to parallel the R3/R5 top tube, whereas the Easton stems were 7°. I can't go for that, no can do.

Hard to see when you are bent over the exam table.
In other news, yesterday I read an article from Amsterdam explaining how the country's claimed leader in sex toy sales predicts the corona virus could result in a shortage come April due to a disruption of Chinese manufacturing.

Another bothersome little detail - the out-front mount fits the Cervelo... but the extended faceplate bolts are silver and the rest of the baby bike bolts on the stem are black. Grrr.

I got the alloy version, though the carbon stem was very tempting - I was honestly more interested in the integrated top cap than the carbon aspect.

Just for fun (idle hands) I went to the Canyon site to see their road bike offerings. Looks great!
They have a "Find your Size" feature, I entered my height and inseam....and got the following:
Your body height/inseam length ratio is outside the normal range check your measurements are accurate and entered properly into the form.
When measuring your inseam, you should pull up the spirit level or book into your crotch with the same amount of pressure as if you were sitting on the saddle.
Sad!!

Oh, and if I'm being completely honest, I wasn't so much tempted by the prospect of a ride, I would have only taken a little spoon around the neighborhood, but by the techno toys. The new camera integrates with Strava and I'm interested to see how the data (HR/power/speed/location?) overlay works.

What I really want is those wheels. I have been beating myself up in the gym and on the trainer and am cultivating the ridiculous notion that I somehow deserve them for that. The best reason, however, and the one which my wife and my financial advisors all agree with, is that I'll be dead soon.

My two cents: if you're going to do it, you might as well overdo it - go with the set with the 240 hubs instead of the 350s. He had those too, right?
