1982 Nishiki Olympic 12, New Appraisal

I bought this bike about two years ago, and it has worked like a charm. New bar tape, tires, saddle, and constantly maintained. What would you say it’s worth? Also, when I bought it, it was $120, but it was in rough shape. Thanks!

I can appreciate your wanting an appraisal, as you could use a larger frame. However, I don't think it's worth much more that what you paid for it. It's not a high end model, being around the crossover from upper entry level to lower mid-range. there's significant paint damage and it's a very small frame, which is typically much harder to sell. BTW, this appears to be a 1983 model, though it may have been manufactured in late 1982.

Clean up the rust on the seat and touch up the paint. With that done, about $150-$165 in my market.

Actually a pretty nice bike I would agree that it is a 1983 which is actually bit nicer than the 1982. As for value clean up the rust, touch up the paint and lower the seat post and stem about 1 inch on the stem and 2 inches on the post to give it a nicer top line which will improve the look of the bike. Take some good new pics with a plane background. Then you should be a able to get $150 or so.

Those 80's Nishiki's are really solid dependable bikes. It looks good. I think that's a Tange Champion #2 frame sticker. Has nice wheels & tires. I would start at about $175 and be willing to negotiate a little.

Pretty typical ~$120 vintage bike in my local area. I’ll bump it to $150 +/- $25 given it’s ready-to-ride with fresh consumables.

Many factors to determine value. I think I could get around $200 or more in Seattle on craigs fairly easily, though the paint on the seat tube looks a bit rough and it is a really tiny frame...

Yes
Not right now, but there will be this spring when I tear it down again.
Im not selling it right now, but if I did, it would be craigslist
