Best, Slim 27.5 tires

I'm in the process of buying/building a second wheelset for my 2018 Specialized Roubaix Sport, this new set being 27.5. Everything is fit pretty tight now, running a 700x28 (the 28 seems more like a 30-32) and I wouldn't go much larger than that.
I'm wondering what the largest I could go on a 27.5 wheel is, if there is any sort of accurate conversion chart from 700 to 27.5, and if anyone here had recommendations.

Switching from 700c to 650b will give you 19mm of additional tire height clearance, but tire width clearance will depend on the geometry of the frame and fork. You'll have to look at your frameset and see how much room tires will have to the sides on 650b rims.

I dunno about the 2018 roubaix but I couldn’t get the paris-moto 27.5 x 1.5 in my 2013 roubaix.

I don't understand, why do you want to switch to 650b if you're not going to run much bigger tyres? You're going to drop the BB a bunch on a bike that already has a low BB.

I think you're going to be really disappointed with this project.

What I meant there was that I wouldn’t go much larger on my 700c wheelset, not the 650b wheelset. I’m looking for a tire that will give me similar clearance I have now, but on a 650b set.

Oh ok.

You can just google "bicycle tyre circumfence calculator" and these will give you a ballpark. A 650b x 47 is about the same diameter as a 700 x 28-30. But that doesn't mean that the bigger 650b tyre will actually fit.
You can do some measurements (keep in mind that the tyres generally are not the widest at the top) but really it comes down to trial and error because of different frame designs.

For example on my bike the chainstays are straight and not dimpled, I can fit a 700 x 40 but a 650b x 45 barely fits.

I'm not sure if I would go with 650b if you can only fit something smaller than a 47, the BB on your frame is really low.
