Obviously(?) a person won't put a kickstand on a bike he just spent $12 for titanium bottle cage bolts and $50 for carbon cages trying to make the bike as light as possible! I bet most of the people that voted for kickstands use them on touring bikes (like me), or have a comfort bike they tool around in town with.

If I can't lean my bike against something to park it then I just lay it on the ground derailleur side up, I found ants and bugs don't really care much for eating steel.

A kick stand can destroy a CF bike. If the stand sinks into the ground and the CF bike falls over and hits something sharp, good bye bike.
