Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

true blue vs spin doctor?? tools

OK I know this may be a dumb question but for all your BASIC home bike maintenance and repair is it really worth buying the park tools over spin doctor tools??

example here is a spin doctor tool set at performance bike

https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...TOKEN=89084407

closest park kit No stand no truing stand a few more hand tools I think but look at the price

https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=4218

I will just be doing my own maintenance and repair I could get the basic park tool kit of 32 pcs and a pcs 9 stand for close to the spin doctor kit cost. I have 4 bikes 2 mountain and 2 road. me and my wife ride.

I know this will be a hot topic for some so keep it civil please and I prefer people who do there own wrenching to comment thanks
Shawn

I wish Snap-On or Hazet made bike tools! Maybe then I would go get a job at the LBS instead of the dealership I work for.

I just bought the "team tool kit" from performance - spin doctor stuff. It's just a wrench man - how complicated can it be. I guess over time you could round it off or something, but my .02 is that the spin doctor stuff will at least let you know what you use, and when it dies then replace it with park stuff.
