Cuda2k's Gazelle inspired me to photograph what is probably the final configuration of my Jan DeReus. Pretty much full Dura Ace 7400 series. More photos at the link in my signature.

I can't believe no one has complimented you on that machine! I like the way you can see how the seat stays wrap around due to the paint job.

very nice Lynn, a bit low keyed paint wise but nice!
Since we're talking Dutch here's my stable:
1975 Remy

1990 Jan de Reus

1974 RIH

1974 Zieleman (old picture before I got and built it up)

oh yah, I fixed your title.

anikan (aka darth),

oh yes indeed.
RIH are particularly known for their track bikes a large number of their National championships and
world titles were won on the track. Very nice bike, care to tell us more about it?
I've been thinking I need a RIH track bike to match the road bike I have above.

Here's mine. It now has full period correct dura ace, except for the campy head set. Oh yeah...and the bars have been fixed as well. I also have a Concorde, but I have to take a better picture of it.

My Gazelle Champion Mondial AA. I set it up as a fixed gear TT machine for a flat triathlon recently:

The Champ lived up to her name. I had the 9th fastest bike leg over all. It was huge fun to pass a CF tri bike with Zipps.

Right now it's hanging on my workstand. I'm going to hang the Campy 10-speed group from my Caldaro on it and make it my "B" road race bike. This is a bike that just begs to go fast.

Most certainly one of Gazelle's most prominate traits. They are lively, fun, fast machines. Couple more close up sof my two for ya'lls viewing pleasure.

and finally, my favorite two of this bike:

Here is my 83 or 84 Batavus competition. I purchased the frameset a few months ago from member JunkYardBike, finally got around to taking a pic. Pretty much a budget build for me with a real mix of parts, but it rides and shifts beautifully. I think my friends in Groningen would approve!

Not any worthy of the bike. I'm kind of a natural sidewall kind of guy anyway.

1981 - I have the correct RD on the shelf waiting to be installed to really seal the deal. This is an aggressive fit for me, but it is so comfortable I am second guessing everything I thought I knew about bike fit, with my crazy long arms and the lower but shorter cockpit I almost feel less strain on my shoulders and neck, it's bizarre, insanely fast this one is, I an certain if I did a TT on this I would be faster than on my Marinoni with campy 10 speed. They weigh nearly the same.

@ cyclotoine: Hey Anthony, I really dig that build - looks very nice!

@ cuda2k: The second photo of the white Gazelle is a great shot! The light of these last sunbeams before dusk makes very special pictures!

Priceless. I would have loved to see that !

---

Here are those of mine that are currently built.
Some of you might already know the pics - sorry, but I don't have any better photos yet.

First of all my lightest bike, used for what I call "training" , a 1985 Batavus Professional made of Reynolds 531 C with quite slim seatstays and a very gracile fork.
Great all-round geometry.

This is what could also be described as "tank-like", a custom built 1982 Vittorio Strada made of Columbus SP tubing. Very tough bike, virtually indestructible.
[The brand is of from Alkmaar, a small city with a very famous Cheese Market where white clothed guild's members carry wheels of cheese on wooden barrows to and from a 14th Century weighhouse every friday morning. Really!]

My most comfortable tourer, a 1979 RIH, Reynolds 531 db tubing with very beefy seatstays and a rather mild geometry.

My little dutch princess "Maxima", a full Reynolds 531 db racer in a girl's bike's disguise (I promised I wouldn't say anything about her age ... ).

Maxima's handsome mate "Willem", a 1981 Champion Mondial A-frame.

Not shown is number six, a royal blue track bike handmade by Leo Koorn - Columbus PS tubing with forged Zeus dropouts and a Zeus track fork.

As the saying goes: If it ain't dutch - it ain't worth much !

Cool Steel: I love that RIH. A bit more relaxed than the A-Frame Gazelle it appears, just the sort of bike I will (eventually) be looking to fill the last place in my collection. Always liked the very simple and understated graphics of the RIH as well.

Jon: yeah, the RIH's frame angles make for a very relaxed ride, I know of no Gazelle pro model that could deliver that.
Would complement your collection quite well, I think (but beware - not all RIHs have this geometry!).
