GT "Team Scream" Tequesta vintage mountain bike frameset MTB retro - $40 (N. Buffalo)

Throwing in the towel on this retro GT Tequesta project. Selling my Triple triangle GT steel frame and fork in the highly sought after "Team Scream" colorway. Size is 16.5" (measured center of bb to top of seat tube) with an effective top tube of ~ 21.5"/52cm, roughly translates to a size small. Will also include the headset, bottom bracket, original GT stem/bars and some yellow Oury grips. A project I started that never came to fruition. A great start for a winter mtb project or gravel bike - Please message me with any questions. Thanks!

Another Super course. The cranks are definitely not original, but it looks like the rear mech is a suntour cyclone? The pictures make it difficult to get a true estimate of its condition. Also, I know the fork rake on these change throughout the years, but I think it'd be worth checking out other pictures of the same mode/year to make sure the fork on this one is okay. The seller says 58cm but to me it looks larger? $100.

Do these really pull in that much coin?

If so, I have two of these I should put on the market.

"...otherwise complete."?? No. It is missing front and rear derailleurs, inner chain ring, 6speed freewheel, cowhorns, shifters etc.
And it needs a 24" front wheel.

BUT it is a very cool bike.

Bored with all the Campy and Shimano equipped bikes? This is a rare beauty Zeus Criterium with all Zeus 2000. The color reminds me of 70s muscle car -street racer. Milled chainset and titanium bottom bracket alone can fetch near half this asking price. Regardless of value its a unique machine from one of the very few makers of their own frame and components. Parts on this rival Campy.

Someone get this.. Doesn't look like its 571, but rather the 501 w/ freewheel. Either way, great overall bike build!

Good question. I really don't know but what I've observed are early mtb of special interest seem to hover at $500.

Just glancing this past year and not wanting to further clutter the garage, could have scored an XT equipped San Andreas Fault, Bontrager with 1st Rock Shox (brand new old store stock), Klein mid range but lime color and rare Mission Control bar DX/XT super clean. $500 range.

Though one I did pick from a dealer (at the same time acquired the NOS 1985 Ochsner full Campy) was a 'brand new' vinti Miyata Elevation 3000 for $175. Too small for me but recall a friend was looking for one and it was his size. Amazing.

Things are circulating from shuttering bike shops who have stashed bikes and parts.

As for the early Stumpjumper, they sold many but I don't see as many discarded today. I've had quite a few and maybe as of five years ago could yet pick them up for $100-$150 in any condition. Fresh service with new rubber and could rarely fetch $250.

I'm keeping my bastarized '93 full rigid drop bar conversion. Rode quite a bit this year plus also loaned it for a month (of which turned not easy to get it back...)

Attempting to EDIT but something is awry.
Caveat and looking closer at one of the images, I don't believe this is a Zeus 2000 chainset.

the sport model is not gonna pull that much. I got mine basically in the same shape as that one for 120- it needed 40$ of parts but still way less. It was not a CL buy though, from a salvage place- and it was a no brainer buy at that price. anything lugged with a bullmoose handle bar is worth at least 150$

I would pay quite a bit more for the non sport 83. I love my sport but I do use it to commute when the weather is bad, and its HEAVY. id love to have the exact same bike but a little lighter for when I have to carry it.

Curiously, at least some TDC freewheels were made to be compatible with two-prong tools as well:

Trek 720?

This was posted on Colorado Springs CL a few weeks back, but I only noticed it last night.

Trek road bike - $150 (link)

Trek frame, specialized handle bars, campangnolo components. Grind and find gears. In great condition.

Frame size is stated as 17.5" which seems a bit small. Staring at it last night, the frame color, Reynolds 531, double eyelets, caliper brakes (rather than canti) and chain stay length seem to be in line with the 1982 Trek 720 (frame only color shown in the catalog):

That could also explain the frankenbike components. Are the cranks Campy? Can't tell from the only pic.

It's a bit too far away and way too small for me to pursue, but perhaps someone nearby can get a good deal.
