Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

King Cage stainless bottle cages

https://www.kingcage.com/

Just got into these. They seem simpler and sturdier than most designs. Anybody have any long-term experience with them?

Very awesome cages. If you like the look of the classic cage than these are the ticket. Only the King Ti cage is nicer.

Yup. Probably my most frivolous expense.

they are great, though i have heard reports of them cracking at the welds in the very long term. depending on why you like them, these from REI are $10 a piece, stainless steel and are some of the best functioning cages i've used:

I had the stainless versions until my son gave me two ti cages. In my experience they're both great. They hold the bottles well, if things get loose, just flex the cage in, reinsert bottle, voilà it's tight again.

Definitely. They look great, hold the bottle and don't mark it, and are sturdy. The titanium version was tempting but I could not justify the cost. The steel version is an investment since they last so long.

I believe those where the elite steel cage not the king.

I have that cage you have posted. Watch the plastic tabs they loosen, buzz and fall off. I lost one set and super glued the other.

The King stainless cages are good...but the expensive King Titanium is simply AWESOME. Made from a single aerospace hydraulic line - the ti cage is so strong I can even lift my entire 19-pound MTB with it...just to set an example(not recommended to be done frequently!)...the high cost to me, is justified.
