Carfree Living in Burkina Faso (photos)

David Pace photographs commuters along a road in Burkina Faso in his series, ?Sur La Route.?

If any of those ears get loose in the spokes, they could become an instant front brake... wait now, he doesn't have a front brake!

We all have to be thankful we were born in West. Seriously.

Perhaps, but, on the other hand, there are millions of people in Africa, Asia and Latin America who love their countries, are perfectly happy living where they are, and have no desire to live in the West.

The people in the photos don't look unhappy or unfortunate. I do hope that Africa becomes more prosperous while also skipping over some of the obsolete bits of technology--like landline phones and private automobiles.
