I think someone wanted an Olympic tribute bike,
couldn't find one in their size -
and fixed another bike any ole way they wanted -
"cause I'm not trying to fool anyone and it will never be sold (as a fake)".
Stupid enthusiasts with fake bikes, sheesh.

Another bike with the wrong decals pasted on it. Likely a Miyata or some such with a set of decals that don't really match anything on the frame. Value close to $50 Smiles, MH

Here's what you should be seeing in a Pinarello '84/'85 Olympic tribute bike that is NOT an SLX Montello.
This is an SL frame and my guess is - that this frame was quickly painted and put on the market.
Note: No internal cable routing, also has a chainstay bridge.
My guess is the SLX Montello in tribute colors came out soon thereafter. With internal routing, etc.
The color blue on the Montello was more of a metallic shade.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Not to steal a thread, but I would like to know which frameset Pinarello, or GitaUSA used for my tribute bike? Record?
–-----------------------------------
My bike has a replacement Tange fork. Pictured as received after initial wipe down.
And yes, I know there is a dent in the seatstay.
Only big pics, sorry, too lazy to resize. not in best order, either.
