Paul Milne is a UK store that specializes in cyclocross. They put together this bike with a 7005 frame and Campag powertrain about six years ago. It then raced one season before sitting for several years in the garage of a local TT star who decided that cross wasn't his thing. Bike set up is perfect - the guy serviced the bike before selling it on ebay. The price was crazzzzy low as he wasn't willing to post an was scrupulously honest about a minor headset problem that will cost me £10 to fix, when I can be bothered!
The bike will soon have BMX pedals and probably a higher stem.

This is my dirty gravelroad racer. Bought it used last fall from a guy my size, but for me at 6 feet the Large size is a bit on the small side. Got a 120 mm stem and some cheap 44 cm Ritchey bars and with the stem flipped it is great for commuting and gravel roads. Mini-v's at the back was not great so I put on old XT cantilever, and with the brakebooster it works out OK. A little retro touch with the "suspension" saddle from the eighties.

Here's my new one - I know white is bad but looks good for a bit - and will probably need knobbier tires on muddy courses - but these will do for now...

I ride this beast through skinny dirt trails way more than I do on the road.

I have my water bottle mounted underneath so I can shoulder the bike up any steep cliffs I run into (I opted for the waterbottle cuz I don't want to wrestle with a camelbak while I charge through trails), I toss a powerbar and my cell in the saddle bag, then head to the trails and see how fast I can peddle down them without killing myself.

ALSO i like looking back at the early posts in this thread from years ago, and seeing how everyones bikes have changed... full aluminum bikes, with 36h wheels... then a big trend of bikes with disc brakes... then too everyone having race cross bikes, lots of carbon, tubies etc... its awesome.

Here's my new to me Giant TCX-0 frame, built up with a random collection of spare parts:
I made the chainguard by grinding down an old big ring. I may actually try to race this year. We'll see.
And here's the latest build of my CrossCheck:
Highlights are the Midge bars and a 38/42 x 17 dingle speed drivetrain.

Maybe you've figured this out in the month since you posted this, but I'll reply anyway. I'm almost a two on the track, but a C racer in CX and a Cat 5 on the road. I don't take anything else seriously, but I do actually find it somewhat embarrassing.

Why not try the Folsom race on the 12th as a C see if that works. It's an off series race so it'll be good practice. I'm doing SS.

Yeah, it's an ENO. I'm happy with it so far but the only downside is that I have to adjust the rear brakes with every gearing change. When I build my dedicated SS CX bike in a couple of years it will have angled track ends.

This is a Campag equipped 7005 frame bike built by a UK store that specializes in cross, Paul Milne. It makes a complete lie of the idea that aluminum bikes are harsh and buzzy.

Dude I beat the hell out of this bike and most of the time my weight is only on the bars and peddles. They haven't let me down yet! And I hope they never do because I foresee massive pain if that would happen. haha

The new ride...Can't imagine the bar tape lasting that long. Thinking some nice brown tape may be in my future.
