Hello from New York - Finger Lakes

Hello from the pastoral Finger Lakes Region of New York State!
New to this forum but I've been riding bikes for a long, long time. -First bike was a Schwinn Stingray.

Current arsenal: '11 Felt Z4 with Ultegra & Dura Ace, '15 Trek Remedy 9.8, '17 Pivot Mach429SL Di2, and, sometime this spring (if Salsa ever gets their delivery act together), a '19 Salsa Warbird Di2.

Spend most of my time out in the woods mountain biking, but put 2000-3000 miles a season on the road. (Would be more but the weather in my area sucks & I don't ride in the rain).

Welcome to the forum.

Nice bike collection. I gather the Di2 on the Pivot made you develop a taste for electronic, thus the Warbird. Nice stuff Di2

Thanks!
Yes, Steve B. the Pivot sold me on Di2 and I'm now a bit of Di2 evangelist.

Yes, when the weather cooperates, it is a truly wonderful cycling venue. Did you get the opportunity to ride around Seneca or Cayuga lakes?

Welcome! My mom grew up in Penn Yan - the Finger Lakes area is beautiful with all sorts of good riding.

Rain and wet roads used to discourage me too, but then I got my first bike with fenders - makes a big psychological difference in ride enthusiasm on less-than-ideal days. I was out yesterday riding through all the melt water on the roads - stayed dry and had a nice ride.

We did a western NY tour. We typically do not drive but we wanted to see a larger area in less time. Here is our (DW) writes it crazyguy journal https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/...id=516534&v=2I
