Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Tour De France ends on gravel

Stage 6 ends on a steep grade of gravel. Made the finish more interesting.

Sure did. The 24% ramps didn't hurt the entertainment dept either

42mm tires would have been faster.

^^ Doing a bike swap isn't always recommended with 1 km to go.

There was originally a LOT more gravel on that climb. They decided to chipseal a lot of it at the last minute. The off-the-scale steep climb at the end? It was supposedly pretty amazing before they chipsealed. Gravel all the way. A month ago, it was gravel all the way from the old finish line to the top.

It was an amazing finish on chipseal. Traction would have definitely been an issue if it were still gravel.
