Peachtree Road Race

So, I bumped into this on YouTube. These velo-cats ride the Boston Marathon course the night before the race.

Got me thinking about the Peachtree... 6 miles. Even on my heavy-fat-tire bike I can do that in under an hour with a couple of breaks.

I'm in if you want to ride it. I always ride out from Decatur the morning of the race to watch the wheelchair and elites. It would be fun to get a good sized group to ride the course the night before.

I'll see if I can round up a few fellow bike freaks.
Maybe we can make a "thing" out of it (even if it is a one-time thing).

IIRC the streets are closed the night before the race.

Will they allow it... Not sure. Will they actively try to stop it? They are public roads.
I contacted the AJC to ask if anything like this happened the night before the race and they replied that "They had no idea, but it sounded cool." (I probably got an intern)

Thing is, I don't want to ask the local constabulary, 'cause... well... that would be crazy.

Forgiveness > Permission.

As long as we don't treat it like a race, we should be fine.

Agreed. Just a nice, night-time ride by a group of enthusiasts.
No money.
No competition.
