Sacramento Studies South Sac Bicycling - Take Survey

The City of Sacramento is now studying ways to improve bicycling in Southeast Sacramento.

According to the City's website, “The City of Sacramento Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) are currently conducting a public outreach and planning project to improve walking and biking facilities in southeast Sacramento. A consultant team has been hired to analyze the study area, assess the demand for biking and walking, and identify candidate improvements for bicycle and pedestrian travel in southeast Sacramento.

After attending an informal briefing by city planners last night during SABA's general membership meeting, I believe the area under study is inadequate. But this is a step in the right direction.

If you are interested in improving bicycling in the area south of Sacramento, please go to the City of Sacramento's website and take the biking and walking survey

Took it. Doesn't apply to me so much living in the Southwest area, but I'm like the Field of Dreams... If they build it, I will come.

I hope to live long enough to see (and ride on) a north-south connector!

Well. If you commute North/South on a regular basis odds are you won't...
