Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

hmmm there's something similar, think it's a tandem or some kind of touring bike where you can fill the tubes with fuel that you use to cook with at the end of the day.

See that's equal oppertunity. I can dig that. If I drive like an ass, target me.

I'm just a little miffed that someone stuck a note to my window AT THE MASS TRANSIT STATION saying "Thanks for destroying the enviroment and supporting terrorist at the same time, how un American." Well, more that they bent my windshield wiper and stole my registration tag.

I have this middle of the road mentality. I drive a Jeep Liberty, I also ride my ass off about every day and I only rode my bike for something like 10 years or so. when I moved to Boston thats all I ever did. Ride, Ride, Ride. miles and miles every day. I don't think I am trying to justify my SUV purchase, but I am trying to say that just because a person owns a SUV it doesn't mean they are an evil, earth hating person.
I do think that those Hummers and escalades need to go. One person driving around town or sitting in a parking space with the motor running while you watch your fishing rod sit is just plain silly. Driving a giant auto around while on talking on your cell phone and letting your ass expand more and more justifies a severe scowling at. BLAH, BLAH , BLAH. Now with that said I think I am going to drive around Boston for a bit.

Agreed. But, it's a free world. And I've got nothing but props for someone with the cajones to put a note on my windshield about how they feel. Made me think twice about if I needed my jeep. But, bending the wiper, well, **** them for that. I catch them at it, I think I'll feed them the wiper. In the wrong direction.

The little flyers put out by groups like Earth on Empty, I agree with. Damaging or torching SUV's I do not. Sh*t like that goes too far and just hurts environmentalism as a whole.
