Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Saw 2010 Raleigh options today

So while at work today, we got the new 2010 Raleigh catalog in.

The Rush Hour is murder. Fantastic looking. They've got a flat bar version of it now available called the Alley and now have a full Ultrega-drive train lugged steel bike that is a step up from the Clubman that is sexy.

I've already put in my order for the new Rush Hour. One of the sickest looking rides I've ever seen.

Not sure. I'm going to burn the DVD that came with it tomorrow and then I'll post pictures of it.

I've got to give them their due, they've definitely come out with something different color-wise.

Bike hugger has pictures of the lugged racer bike, it's gorgeous.
I have always liked the rush hour, in all it's variations.

A steel roadie with lugs and tarck bikes. Raleigh knows how to jump on those trends.

Weight? Stiffness? Ease of changing bars?

Threaded may look better, but thats about all it has going for it. I recently built up a road bike with a threaded headset and man was that a pain getting the bars on.

Perhaps that's how they have managed to stick around one way or another since 1887.

no key way cut into the steerer to make a failure point, No seized wedge stronger, & cheaper to make.

i should have been more specific, why is there a threadless stem on THIS bike, a lugged steal "classic"-type road bike?

the ultergra cranks look far more out of place than the stem. No one who is spending that much on a bike is gonna want outdated technology on a new bike, even if it is classic looking.

Anybody that into the classic look should be pretty cranky about the baby-blue rims, anyway.

Anyone have an idea about how much the 2010 Rush Hour will cost?

I dig all these new bikes that are coming out but one thing I can't understand is why they all seem to be moving towards those integrated type stems that offer no adjustability. It just seems silly
