I'm trying to locate a bike just like this. By some chance does anyone know what it is?

Yup, I think BluesDaddy nailed it. But if it's NYC police, I'm sure it's an Iver Johnson rather than something imported from France. Did you see this picture of an Iver Johnson? Similar upturned handlebar, anyway....

whoa! Check out the angle on that Monstrous (Brooks?) Saddle! Looks like a classic motorcycle saddle. Also, note the bag on the top tube that says 'dogs only.' It *almost* looks like a pistol holster. Cool pic!

Since there's a pistol sticking out the top of it, I figured it's a pistol holster... but I don't know much about that kind of thing.

Also interesting that the rider seems to be chained to the bike. Odd.

I have doubts that is the rider cuffed to the bike. He has on a Navy "Cracker Jack" uniform. I can see the neck piece and the crow on his Petty Officer's rate insignia on his left sleeve. Is there a caption for it somewhere? The right click trick didn't tell me anything about it.

Looks like handcuffs on a long chain through the frame to me. Now, having a pistol on hand to shoot menacing dogs... I've wished for one a couple times in my life.

I think it might be a Iver Johnson also.

Great sailor picture! He is in his "Dress Blues" uniform. I have a pretty good bet I'm right on that since I wore the same style uniform for 7 years.

In 1917, Schwinn called them "Arch Truss Frames"...
