I didn't notice that. Hm. Pearl Harbor I guess.

I saw "Contender" and "Sportsbaseonline". And a wicked obvious ENVE logo in a flash cut bit.

*edit Totally spaced on the "41" reference. Can you tell I've been reading about the various versions of what people think really happened in Kursk (number of tanks etc). /edit

I think we kind of self moderate. I the while I've been here there's not really been a whole lot of interpersonal drama. Except between me and...

for those of you wanting to watch the scratch race, there's a VPN service called Giant Tunnel Bear. You get 500mb free, and I used it this past summer and fall to watch cycling coverage from BBC (Olympics) and eurosports.

currently watching the scratch race right now

also, anyone think it's a conspiracy that the uploader, UCI, decided not to have it available in the US?

Had the kids checked out at the pediatric cardiologist this week. None of them inherited dad's bicuspid aortic valve (a relatively common thing to pass along). Thank God for small miracles.

We might buy a new car for the first time .... seems strange to me. Looking at smallish cars like Hyundai Elantra hatchback, Mazda3 ... Subaru Impreza reads well, but inside it looked like it was 8 years old.

Argh! Building up a team-mates bike last night with Shimano Ultegra cranks in a BB30 frame. I'm using the FSA pipe adapter and got it installed at the LBS.

My wife picked up the frame and the convo went;

Wife 'You used Loctite with this, right'
Mech 'No, grease..I always use grease with these'
Wife 'Oh, hubby says instructions online say to use Loctite'
Mech 'If he has a problem I'll redo it with Loctite'

Well I went to install the Shimano cups and whilst torquing to spec I noticed an odd sensation. Looked down at the BB area and yup, the adapter was spinning in the frame...And that sir is why you gotta use Loctite...Even though I know this is not the best setup anyway. So now I gotta take the frame back to get them to redo the job the way it should have been done in the first place.

Not a biggie, just a PITA because I wanted this build done this weekend...

And yes I know I should have just done it myself it's not that tough, but I was trying to save myself the hassle of running out and buying the proper Loctite that I'd probably use once...

Had the sedan and then the hatch, now a 5...I like Mazda so I'm biased!

The 3 is friggin fun car to drive and the hatch is really versatile. Really easy to get bikes in the back. The only reason the wife and I moved to a 5 was the desire to be able to fit the bikes in the back, standing up, with on the front wheel removed. We do a lot of traveling for racing so we were getting tired of either removing the seat posts to stand them up, or lying them down on each others.

I personally don't think you can go wrong with a Mazda 3...

Mazda3 was nice, but the kids got bounced around in the back a bit. has to be comfortable for 4. It will mainly be my wife's commuter car, but will have 4 people sometimes.

We have 2 VW golfs. Love them. Both 4 door hatchbacks. We have a new one and the 03 my wife bought new. 140k on the clock and still runs great and never had any issues.
