Two shots of my minty '86 Univega just before hauling it down from the shelf after 2+ years of sitting there. Unfortunately, the original tires which were more-or-less OK to ride two years ago are now completely dried out
Ok, bike, if you're gonna be that way about it, back up on the shelf with you!

A Day At The Races - Road America SVRA 2017
The Sportscar Vintage Roadracing Association raced at Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin over the weekend. Races were called due to rain on Saturday, but we got most of them in on Sunday. Here is what I saw...
Mercedes 190 SL in full race trim.
Same car, cockpit shot.
BMW 2002
Porsche 911.
Another 911 being overtaken by a gorgeous Lotus Eleven.
Datsun 510.
The next three are my favorites, all from Italy:
Alfa Romeo Spyder Veloce.
Ferrari 458.
Alfa Romeo GTV2000 (corrected - Thanks chadm)
"Art Shot" from the Porsche Paddock:
I didn't bring a bicycle this year because of the rainy forecast. So all my action shots were from the same corner, Turn 7, just before "Hurry Downs". All-in-all it was a pleasant, if hectic weekend.

My little art project from Sunday night's ride:
Let's call it "Underneath the Bridge at Sunset".

The seasons go fast in Minnesota.
In February we were begging for Sea Salt to open at Minnehaha Falls.
When we were there yesterday there was a two hour wait in line.
So it goes......

Been biding my time for consistent riding for the past 4 months. In the meantime, I'm coaching my daughter's 12U fastpitch softball team. Success last weekend by winning the PNW Regional Championship means we're heading to Jensen Beach FL in two weeks to participate in the Babe Ruth softball World Series. Guess that's a good excuse to not ride as much.
Coaching (and watching) my daughter grow as a player and person has been an immense joy. This will be my last year coaching due to the back issues, and the girls don't know yet. So, I savor every moment.

Well, thank you very much!
Here is one I posted elsewhere in a similar vein:
This year I am concentrating on making the sky my friend. It takes up so much of the image, so much of the time, that a little emphasis goes a long way.

I was on a quick working trip around Austin, TX earlier this week - really fun city, I wish I had a bike and more time there!

I've had this crusty '78 Jack Taylor hanging from the rafters in my shop waiting for some love for 2.5 years now. Last night i decided it was time to build it up to make sure I like the ride.
The past 2-3 years I've been pretty much primarily riding modern bikes (mainly this https://flic.kr/p/Z7gBJK , this https://flic.kr/p/YmuEkQ , and this https://flic.kr/p/XonNrV ).
So anyway, I built this up and took it for 20 today. 10 road 10 gravel.
it was a good ride, but i did get my tetanus shot first.
