Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The SwissStop Black Princes have served me well on my low profile carbon rims. I do not ride in the rain however.

These rims aren't delicate flowers. I ride summer and winter, and have no real issues. BTW, those blue Cryo pads will easily last one full season, and probably two, since they're fair weather friends.

Just in from my morning ride. A lovely morning and a lovely old man ride. The air is so heavy that the smoke from the burning dump can't rise above ten feet. I passed it twice, an hour apart. No dice.
The dump burns every day that it's dry enough. Just the way it's done.

Started pouring in Philly about 5 min. ago. Off and on showers and t-storms predicted through the evening. I knew that yet forgot to pack my rain jacket this morning.

Missed me. We had a fantastic ride today. Then I mowed one of the lawns. Now at dentist. After that, taking Jackie to the vet.

It’s a busy day off. But all good.

Wait! Don’t they increase your average speed by 1 MPH?

Five minutes ago it looked like the beginning of the apocalypse in town, but there was not another round of rain. Doesn't look nearly as bad now, but certainly not clear.

Oops. Hearing thunder. Going to make a break for it.

Had my oil and tranny fluid changed today, now I’m ready for that daily 85 mi ride to Harlem where I shoot a HS basketball tournament for the entire month. My favorite time of the year, I love working with the kids, and it’s all about education.
