They should probably write it like this for veterinarians US Dept of Justice.
Makes it seem like no big deal.
And the other way for criminals and watch-list types UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

...they got the right to manipulate their balls prior to the game.
I'm just going to leave that hanging, yes. Dangling, even. Swinging.

Sorry @Heathpack; I see other people made the corrections already. I still stand behind point 3) above.

@ Heathy The other detail left out was that each team only uses their own balls when on offense. So the fact that 11 Patriot balls were all deflated, and none of the Colts' balls were deflated translates to a potentially clear advantage for the Patriots.
There's NO WAY that 11 footballs would all deflate by themselves, and there's NO WAY somebody would take it upon themselves to do that without the head coach's knowledge. NO WAY!

3) Yes, it's utterfly effing absurd. The NFL should have the refs bring a few dozen brand new balls and inflate them to 13psi, exactly, just prior to kickoff.

This statement is ALMOST as dumb as the look on your face in that exiting the water picture that atom woman probably has framed on her work desk. Have you ever played football ?? Have you ever felt new balls?? Not that kind.... New footballs ??? Get a clue...Hummer
The NFL should for sure provide the balls. Says I. Who knows nothing whatsoever about football.

Yes, the Pats won. The balls were properly inflated during halftime, and the Pats still outscored the Colts 28-0 in the second half. It really is a non-story - if it were anyone but the Pats, there would be zero uproar. Did you hear the big scandal when the Vikings were caught illegally warming their balls (har har) earlier this year in a cold outdoor game? Nope, you didn't. They did it. They got caught. It was given the deserved amount of scrutiny. It's just that people don't get butt hurt over the Vikes.

Yes, Pats won. They can change the rules all they want. Pats have shown in the past they don't care about the rules. But then again, the head coach of the Seahawks left USC before it was found out that he doesn't care about them either. That's it. Calling it the CheaterBowl now!

And I agree - it made absolutely no difference to the outcome of the game. Pats outplayed the Colts, hands down.

The only real issue is the integrity of the game. Any game. If the rules don't matter, why have them?

Sounds reasonable to me, but like you, I don't know anything about football psi or who's responsibility it is to check.

...how do all these professional athletes get away with handling, warming, and otherwise manipulating (I presume this included scratching) their balls on national television ? #shocked
