Nice ride you have there.
Hard to get on his list. A friend tried a couple of years ago and gave up. Ended up with a cool used Retrotec that he bought at our winter swap.
FWIW I took my Blackborow on a 13 mile ride in the snow this morning and I felt like I went 60+.
Super fun though, as we brought cooking supplies along and had a fantastic trail breakfast in the snow south of the Twin Cities.

23 miles on a very windy Saturday on the Centurion Ironman. First half into the 22 mph west headwind to warm up the legs, half with the tailwind to improve some Strava PRs. Three seconds faster than this time last year, nudged myself from 7th to 6th on a 6 mile time trial segment. Made it worth battling the headwind and gusts up to 40 mph.
Fast curve away from buffeting 22+mph crosswind toward a fast, straight roller coast with the tailwind. Improved my Strava PR on this 6 mile time trial segment, 25.2 mph overall average.
Not quite my current setup. I took off the Scott aero bars the other day. Too gusty right now.

Yup. I try to ignore stuff like that but it annoys me when people fly the flag as a display of patriotism but leave tattered flags up like that. Unless it's an ironic display of protest, in which case that's okay. It's still annoying. But not as annoying as athletes using flags as towers and capes for victory laps.
Scuse the digression. That's a fun route with a westbound wind. Let's me pretend I'm fast. Any of the other cyclists in the top ten on that Strava segment could easily drop me. But with a tailwind that segment is more like sailing than cycling.

Univega outside. Me inside drinking coffee.
***
22 miles on a springlike Friday evening. Really too tired for a "bike ride" but it was too nice a day to waste. So I called it a grocery errand trip. And decided on stores 10 miles away. Took the Univega to remind myself it's a casual ride, not a workout.

A buddy and I got out for 45mi today -- temps were also mid-40s, it felt like spring was peeking around the corner. We'll see...it would be nice to get out skiing once or twice.
Lunch
I'm pretty sure this is was my first time riding on a body of water. Wethersfield Cove. Lots of people out ice fishing.
This doesn't show it well, but I'd guess we were on around 8-10" of ice.

The Blackborow ride sounds like fun, riding and eating, can’t beat that.

What size is the Black Cat? I may be interested if it becomes available at some point. PM me down the line if you remember.
I'm riding mtb's and gravel 90% of the time nowadays and the BC looks perfect for Moab and the trails here in Minnesota.
edit: Just looked at Curtis's site and the Funduro and the orange fatbike really caught my eye. So did his "cross" frameset, but I'm sure all of his framesets are outstanding.

Although 37* I thought I’d better get out while the sun was out. Couple pics along Lake Erie.

I rode to the library and hung around playing old school runescape on the computers plus a little web browsing and checked out some TV series DVDs.

Shakedown ride for the Davidson yesterday, getting ready for Eroica.
42 relatively rapid miles on the W&OD Trail out to Purcelleville and back.
Worked flawlessly!

I got out in the sun yesterday as well. It certainly isn't warm yet, but at least its warmer than it has been lately

Finally made it to 70° today in SoCal. I got the old Legnano out for a 10 mile ride thru Porter Ranch, with a stop in Oakridge Park. The wildflowers are finally starting to pop. It was great to get out just in shorts and jersey without the cold weather gear. I know, we're weather wimps here in California, but still do appreciate the sun when it does come out. It's the first time we got to 70° in 41 days, which is a lot for us. I put the old half toe clip pedals back on to get ready for next month's Eroica.

@Slightspeed I, too, took advantage of the clear skies and warm temps in So Cal (L.A.) to sneak in a little Eroica training. I headed down the Ballona Creek bike path to Marina Del Rey where the wind was so crazy that my bike kept getting blown over as I tried to take a picture of it on the jetty. I had a tailwind for most of the ride home, though.

First ride outside since the beginning of November. And it was a 13-14 glorious miles for a lunch break. After the past 11 months of nerve issues including pain and numbness in my left arm while riding I feel blessed that i can even be outside to enjoy the air, brand new calves and quite a few bald eagles and freedom of being on a bike. I did fix the saddle angle after taking the photo.

Good on you! Get better. Cycling sure helps.
Spring flood waters receded, so I rode my normal 25. This is the turnaround.

With the sun shine bringing temps in the low 50’s and not much more than a soft breeze, today brought significant relief from the rather harsh weather of recent weeks.
All good reason for a bike ride!
Took the jaunt through the side streets of town to visit the co-op in search of brakes.
No such luck with that, but the return home along the bike path more than satisfied. In fact, I overshot my usual turn off on purpose just to squeeze an extra mile or so out of the deal.

Dinner fixed for the family and look at all this nice daylight and warm temps STILL! Love this time change. Out the door and down the road for some fast miles around town without all the weight of my Chrome bag and lock. Man the Bianchi really took off on a gallop!
its going to be a glorious spring!

I, too, did an Eroica test ride today on my Moser. This is Simmons Gap road in western Albemarle County, Virginia. This starts next to a brook called the Lynch River and heads up into the Blue Ridge. There is a long steady climb on dirt/gravel up close to Skyline Drive in Shenandoah NP. I did a first time exploration of a connector trail to Skyline which asked me to dust off some old MTB skills. Noticed the sign on my way back after a couple of chilly miles on Skyline. I did a brief side trip to test out about a 1/4 mile of 15-20% grade and the Moser handled it well. Had a small hiccup when I went on the connector trail and tree debri got caught up in my RD and knocked the cable loose. A bad time to ask the question “I wonder if my multi tool has an 8 mm open wrench”. The bike gods were kind today and I did, so able to fix and finish my ride.

We cry for rain here in California, but after a few nice days you can feel it's going to be a rough allergy season. Take that into account for the Eroica ride.

Finally have some decent weather in South King County, rode 18 miles on the Nishiki. I'm so out of shape that I forgot to take a photo. Maybe it didn't happen.

The only riding I've been doing lately has been in my living room. Too much to do, too lousy weather, too much snow and ice on the roads. You are free to be skeptical if you wish.
