I am looking to restore my old 87’ Mongoose Decade bike to gift to my nephew. Looking to have it recoated as close to original color preferably powder coated. I am asking for any recommendations for a shop or someone near Katy/Houston TX Thanks for any help.

I got whatever you need on that. The places you're going to need is this place for the research: Vintage Mongoose - The complete history of your old Mongoose bmx
As far as decals: https://www.bmxproducts.com/collecti...ecals-and-sets and https://porkchopbmx.com/decals-stick...ngoose-decals/
As far as powder coating bmx bikes, the recognized expert is https://www.c4labspc.com/
And parts, I go to either ebay, craigslist, the classifieds at www.bmxmuseum.com, www.porkchopbmx.com, or www.bmxguru.com.
For restoration reference go to the bikes section of bmxmuseum and find a pristine example of one, there's no shortage. As far as decals, if you can't find some, there are a few guys on there that can point you in the right direction on that.

As in what; the original color that bike came in, or the paint codes offered by Mongoose overall.

Would be cool to know the paint codes/paint brands of the 70's and early 80s mongooses supergooses, especially that metallic blue that most of them were. But were they actually powder coated? I'm not sure they were, I remember the paint flaked off pretty easily...
