Fame at last

Just heard of a Ride in London next year and trying to get advance notification of when entries open. Going through the Web sites associated with the ride- came across this video.

https://www.ridelondon.co.uk/

And there I am at 31 seconds in.

Was hoping I had lost that phase of my cycling experience but Banana Man may ride again. Still have the costume.

Don't throw it out! If that 50+ get together ever gets organised for GB, I think you should set the lead and have everybody turn up in a superhero costume. I'd travel down just for the pictures

Put in a pre- entry for the 100 miler but places will be limited. If I get that place--Banana Man will not be doing it. BUT failing entry to that ride- I will try for the Fun ride and then he will be there.

Banana Man appeared at the Tour of Britain London stage in the 18 mile Fun ride before the event. The organisers asked for Fancy dress so I arranged the bike with a placard highlighting Prostate Cancer and I arranged for the costume. 1,000 riders and Guess who was the only one to dress up? Put all the others that had not bothered to shame.

And for those of you that do not understand British History--A Short intro.

Step, the song popped in my head when I read bananaman. I just wanted those to get the tune that I was lampooning. But, thanks for the reference to the "real" Banana Man.

BTW, when did this air. I lived in England from 1973 to 1976 as a teen.

Edit: NM, I see it was in the 80s, after I left the UK.

I would think that Bananaman's superfood has more to recommend than Popeye's canned spinach. ...but then that's just my personal preference.

I like the half-banana antenna, and they are my favorite snack, one each day for me. Bring on banana Man, I nominate him for the 50+ mascot.

Yep, I eat at least 2 to 4 bananas a day. One before my ride and the others as part of my meals.
