1977 mkm
This was an interesting buy recently. Serial 4568 dates it to 1977 based on the MKM website. https://www.mkm-cycles.co.uk/ The photos in the ad were much better than the actual condition of the bike with a badly scratched non drive side top tube and fork legs. Still, early Dura-Ace, Sugino Mighty, 3TTT bar and stem, mismatched wheelset and a full 531 frame and fork.

Very nice! I've had both a Wes Mason and an MKM from that era, but neither were quite my size so they moved on. Very nicely built bikes.

There is an MKM on Portland's Craigslist - it's been there at least a month. Surprised it has not yet sold. Also a Mason frame I noticed more recently.

Are you going to keep it or flip it? My MKM is wasted on me now, but it's my only bike. In my 30s and 40s, when I could ride 16-20 mph, especially with a group, I liked it better than anything else I rode - Raleigh, Peugeot, Gitane, 3Rensho, Miyata, Trek. My MKM replaced an Atala with a 531 frame tube label, which I loved but which was stolen. It was magical from the first ride.

It was kind of market value but the size was advertised incorrectly so it is at least an inch too small for me. I will probably harvest some bits for an early Dura Ace build and move the frame on.

I had a Wes Mason that I bought as frame only from Bicyclesport on King St E in Toronto (Mike Berry's shop) back in 1975. Not sure if he had MKMs as well but perhaps Mariposa might have some information for you?
The Mason had a sloping fork crown and a very tight rear triangle but very nicely made.

Still, these are very nice frames. I had one from this era, though in a medium blue and not having the integral fork crown. I sold it a long time ago. I still have the photos that I used for the sale ad but they're on an old 3.5 diskette and my current PC doesn't have an appropriate drive.

Hi Narhay
I might be interested in that frame. What is the actual ST size, ctc or ctt?
