Pretty sure that seat post will slide right out. Easy access brake mount.
Now, those are some diamond stays.

As if a death fork wasn't enough to worry about. This viscount is for those who want live on the edge 😬

Yep, I've never tried it, but I doubt that an aluminum fork would survive the spreading necessary to fit that rear hub.

Thanks for clarifying. For better or worse, I just always assume viscount = death fork unless told otherwise.

But wow, the more I look at this the worse it gets. There is a front derailleur mounted on the bottom bracket/stem combo. If that chain drops you're likely to lose at least a few teeth!

I guess this is a disturbing new trend on Craigslist, and I did flag the ad. But what a cutie!

Every so often a bike flipper has to move. This was posted two days ago and this afternoon apparently everything left went to scrap because he's moving tomorrow. Hope someone was on the ball and willing to risk venturing out, because I wasn't about to drop everything to go climb through bike piles.

Eh, $20 for a complete project bike, mid level or lower isn't terrible, if it fits and you're looking for it. I wouldn't wade in looking to flip anything though, my knowledge is too shallow.

I see a Peugeot UO8 with pump, the Shogun isn't bad, and there's potential for other good bits, just too hard to tell from seller photos. One of the other photos has a rockhopper, hard rock, and 'dale road frame, and the mid-grade fuji with barcons looks salvagable.

But... not right now, and it's apparently too late anyway

Yep, I keyed in on the 'dale, the Spesh's, and the Fuji, plus at least one Raleigh of indeterminate pedigree. I'm nowhere near it, but I'd try to check it out if it were. The third photo has a tensioned saddle too, that's basically the price of the bike if it's salvageable. There was a 'collector' sale recently, but it was Magnas, NEXT's, Huffys, etc. Mostly 'ladies' frames as well. I looked good and hard for any hints to quality, and failed to find any.

With barcons that would be worth the price of admission.

Blue bike-boom bike in pic 3 appears to have Suntour power shifters. A few other honorable mentions, a couple Nishikis, a Trek 800, a second C'dale, and my favorite stoopid idea for a brand/model -- Giant Butte.

Old Firenze with a "lightweight alloy frame". These bikes were given away by "TV Lenny", aka Crazy Lenny, with every console color TV (or whatever) he sold in his appliance chain. So offered because the bikes weren't safe enough to _sell_ legally in the US (but it was perfectly legal to _give_ them away). The absolutely delicious irony -- this seller says he's selling this BSO because he bought an E-Bike -- from the very same Crazy Lenny, who came out of retirement to open an e-bike business.
