Specialized Armadillo or Continental Gatorskin?
I've been using S-Works Turbos for a couple years and want something new plus would like a tire that will be better puncture resistant. I have used Armadillos before as well but seems like lots of people like the Gatorskins. I'm also gonna move up to a 26 or 28 from 24C
Opinions?

I've used Armadillos in the past and really liked them. My 2016 Specialized Roubaix came with the regular Turbo Pros, and I love them. I think they are a good combo of puncture resistance and good handling/feel. I ride on Long Island and there is a lot of puncture inducing detritus on the roads and I don't really flat that often. I just moved up from 26 to 28's and love them.

Going from S-Works Turbos to Gatorskins in search of puncture protection is the equivalent of switching from Coppertone Spray to Behr Premium Exterior Latex Paint for your choice of sunblock.
The list of positive attributes to the Armadillo or Gator: you (mostly) won't get flats anymore. End of list. Everything else is suffering.

I'd rather deal with flats than Gatorskins.

I used to run Gatorskins for years. They last a really long time, but ride rough and don't get good wet traction. Running Vittoria pro slicks now, noticed a big ride quality difference right away.

In the Conti line, I've found Grand Prix 4 Seasons to be an OK compromise between GP4000/GP5000 and Gatorskins. They don't ride as well as the GP4000/5000s, but their flat protection is a lot better and propensity for sidewall problems are far less.
