Hello everyone from Okinawa, Japan. I grew up in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and joined the military at 21. I have been riding road bike for the last 4 years. I have 7 bikes right now. I like them steel and carbon, old school, new school. I just like to ride.

Welcome to the forums!
USMC?
I was stationed there of and on for a total of 8 years, between '90-98, and I absolutely loved it there. And I get the fortunate chance to visit my in-laws there near Nago every couple of years, as I met and married my wife who is from there.
Where do you ride there? I plan to ship or bring a low geared bike with me next time I visit. This is with the intentions of touring the island, and getting a few climbs in, such as Yaedake and Otobadake near Nago.
Do you do any fishing there? Gosh, I really miss fishing in Okinawa, especially near Kin-Cho's port.
And the festivals...local and Orion beer festivals....Good food and beer!

Yes, I am in the Marines. I love it here also. The cycling is amazing and the culture is just as great. I ride the whole island. I have done the tour de okinawa 2 years running now. I havent fished too much as i can only really indulge in one hobby. The food and beer is absolutely amazing. I know i will miss it when it is time to leave.
i visited okinawa 2 years ago, pretty cool

Nothing better than stopping at a small convenience store for a cold beer and a rice ball.
I noticed your large list of bikes. Which one(s) did you take over there? I couldn't imagine having to TMO all my bikes there and then back again.
The Tour de Okinawa is something I'd like to do someday, but signed up for the slower citizen tour ride.
