Most Campy derailleurs have a C-clip on the dropout side of the bolt that is popped out.

Maybe one in 100 shop mechanics has taken apart a rear derailleur upper pivot. Shops don't have the time, expertise, or most importantly the motivations to undertake the fussy, time consuming, high risk job.
They want to sell you a rear derailleur. Actually, they really want to sell you a new bike.

Done it a few times, although my boss probably wouldn't have approved...
Bit of a struggle to get it back together, but not that hard if you're smart enough. No peening or single-use parts involved... Be prepared to pay through the nose for the bolt, though.

If you've taken apart the OP's type of Campy derailleur, let's hear how you do it.

Oops, my bad - should have read the thread properly.
Haven't come across one of those oddballs. Or rather, haven't had cause to look at the upper pivot on one.
Not sure why that malarkey is necessary... Hopefully the point is to reduce the slop that tends to happen in the typical setup.
