My point was simply that it is better to treat it as an insurance policy than a perk, especially as it is a Co-Op.

Which is a good thing. Should it sit back and let people do whatever they want as long as they net a penny at the end of the fiscal year, taking into account that it's a co-op that benefits its members? (That's a rhetorical question, in case you didn't get that.)

Welcome to my iggy list, so don't bother quoting me. I won't know if you do.

I am an old hat at the world of internet forums, it's always fun.

I am glad to see Walnutz digs his bike, and bought the one I like. Now you have to ride a thousand miles on it.?

Yeah, that’s a pretty sweet bike. They really did a good job overall when they relaunched their bike line.

I have looked at the City, and prefer the Geometry on the ADV more. More reach on the City. But hey, if it works for you that's all the matters.

And for those with somewhat deeper pockets although it isn't on sale......
Salsa Fargo Apex $2199 (Seems like the standard price, but the dividend)

That's a nice bike. They didn't have any when I went looking. Got a Jamis Sequel. Very similar.

I picked up the 2019 DRT 1.2 last October on some random super sale, just over $600 OTD. Since it was on sale I didn't get the 10%, but I have the REI CC and got the dividend there. I can't remember if it is 5% for all REI items, or 1% since it was on sale, i honestly just don't remember all the terms on the card.

At that price point there was literally nothing new that compared on the market. I haven't had the chance to put a ton of miles on it because winter and then the 'rona, but having a lock out fork has been a revelation

That's why I like the ADV 3.1. There isn't anything comparable for the money. And it has everything I want with the exception of those drops.

And as much as I like that above Salsa I just don't need 29 inch wheels, or the higher cost components. I like the Salsa though.......
