Monsieur Mangetout ate a whole bike once, by breaking it down into small pieces. That's not all he ate though. Probably weirdest was an entire Cessna airplane, which took him two years to eat. The publishers of the Guinness book awarded him a brass plaque declaring him the man with the world's 'strangest diet', but he ate the plaque.

Thanks- I couldn't quite place what it was supposed to be. I feel for these people that for whatever reason, come into possession of an old XC race bike, have to slap a huge gel saddle on it, then need additional padding because it's not comfy enough.
