How much weight did you put on this winter?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm up about 20-25 lbs from my best riding shape last summer and at a new max. Not happy about that.

+8-9lbs, least amount of weight added over Christmas in a loooong time.

I ended last season at 167lbs (should probably be 155-158lbs @ 5'9".) I managed to hold to 172lbs until just after Christmas then life and work picked up, snow hit hard, and even though I switched to the trainer I was over-indulging in the snacks. Sitting at 175-176lbs right now, blah. My goal is to drop to 162-165lbs before the cycling season really picks up in April. I've really been working on my core the past few months (push ups, planks, etc) and probably put on some weight due to muscle. The good part is that March is looking mild with little chance of snow for the next couple of weeks, so outdoor mileage is picking up already.

I hardly know what "putting on weight" means.
I always weigh somewhere between 78 and 82 kilograms ... regardless of what and how much I do or eat.
Winter or summer has almost no effect on that ... possibly a kilogram or two.
Sorry.

Maybe up 3. Not much riding over the winter but increased the swimming when I moved from FL to OH (outdoor vs indoor pools) running is about the same. Even when I lived in FL the cycling fell off in the winter, due to day light rather than temps.

This. 10.5 inches of snow on Tuesday 3/5...largest snow here since 2/1/1982.

I weighed 138 in August 2012. The elliptical machine cannot replace cycling and I detest the trainer.
At 147 now BUT I also weighed 147 in March 2012. So I'm happy for zero net gain for 12 month period. Was actually at 152 after a December cruise and the holidays.

2012 miles = 9058
2013 goal = 8000

The Ground Hog was grossly incorrect this year.

congrats to all who held steay or lost weight!

Sounds like an advert, but cycling let me effortlessly shed the pounds off with almost no effort!! I'm 5'8", 152lbs and I started cycling at about 175lbs. My desired target weight is somewhere around 140-145 lbs and it won't take long to get there. Man, do I love cycling!

Not enough to make my doctor happy, but more than I'd have liked. Now that the weather's improving, I'm working on really pi$$ing the doc off. (She's one of those, "but you need a little 'extra in case you get sick.. ' types)

I don't know. I don't know what I weighed at the beginning of winter, or what I weigh now.

Two recovery rides after the Whistler Gran Fondo in Sep 2012, I hung up my bike for the winter. The plan was to lift more weights and work on my freestyle 3x a week during the winter break.

Of course, that never happened! I gained 15 lbs from October-January, that's what happened. Have started cycling again (indoor rollers) since 5 weeks ago, and have lost 5 lbs. But still not back to the fitness level I had 5 months ago.. I suck now more than ever...
