Well I'm a guy but comfortable commenting on other men's looks, so I'll go with Carry Grant. There is absolutely nothing that I can see in Hugh Grant that is attractive...his stamina in Hollywood (and with ladies) has me absolutely baffled to be honest.
Carry Grant had that "cool aura" about him at least!

Darn.... love them both!
Oh dreamy men with great hair!
Either completely shaven or great hair. There's no in between.
Who cares if they can act....As long as they can act like they like me!

Good God, people. Hugh Grant is a no-talent actor who, while dating ELIZABETH HURLEY, got busted picking up a NASTY LA hooker. Cary Grant was a suave actor, loved by millions, who liked to take rather copious amounts of LSD. In the court documents of his divorce proceedings, his soon-to-be ex-wife claimed "mental anguish" because he used to not take her to the Oscars, preferring instead to take a buttload of acid and watch them on television, in his pajamas, jumping up and down on his bed and guffawing at all the silly Hollywood phonies. Now THAT'S a role model.

Tend to agree that most men would prefer to be perceived as Cary over Hugh in the same way we'd prefer to be seen as suave and ironic over stuttering and bumbling. Chacon son goute.
Also, for those that wish to consider all available Grants, there's 55/Rad.

The Philadelphia Story. Bringing Up Baby. North By Northwest. Gunga Din. Suspicion. Arsenic and Old Lace. Notorious. Charade. To Catch A Thief.
Are you kidding me? Cary Grant's worst performance was 10 times better than Hugh Grant's best. No contest.

What about Lou Grant?? (what? he's fictitious???)
Amy Grant?
Horace Grant? (gotta love the sport goggle look on the court!)
Grant Hill?
Grant Hart? (Any Husker Du fans out there?)
Me? I'm more into the power and might (and $50 bill action) that is provided by Ulysses Simpson Grant.

Funny, I just watched north by northwest with my gf last night.
That's one smooth dude.
If cary grant's melted butter in the pot, hugh grant's the nasty gritty black stuff next to the pilot light under the stove.

Cary was/is the epitimy of style and class.
Even in his many comedic roles, the man oozed class.
Mr Blandings builds his Dream House
Father Goose
The Awful Truth
Arsenic and Old Lace( one of the best)
The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer
I was a Male War Bride.(even in a dress-class)
I probably own more Cary Grant movies than any other single actor(maybe tied with Tom Hanks)

Cary Grant all day long. That's a no brainer. Now, throw Hugh Jackman in the mix, and you might have a tough decision on your hands....

Between the two, Gary Grant always. But open up the field and I'll take Gary Cooper any day. Yumma.
