wild-with reese witherspoon about hiking the pct. a 6.5/7. movie bypassed the sierras for the most part. a serious flaw.

gone girl-really disturbing and enjoyed it. a 9.

lucy-enjoy luc besson and scarlett and the movie had moments but only give it a 7.5.

young frankenstein-a timeless classic. it had been too long. "yes! yes! he vas my boyfriend!" a 9.5.

Age of Ultron was excellent. Saw it last weekend. Not sure if I liked it more than the first but it's close.

Ex Machina 9/10 Absolutely loved this movie
Avengers Age of Ultron 7.5/10 I really liked it, but some of the comedy seemed way too forced.

I don't disagree about it being a classic whedon script. I still believe some of the comedy was way too forced. I'm definitely not alone on that either.

fruitvale station 8/10
Mad Max 9/10

Draft Day, ok there's plenty of issues with this move but I'll be damned if it wasn't pretty enjoyable. 7/10

The Sure Thing. 8. Not really into or familiar with romantic comedies, but this one was very solid. Well-assembled.

Friended to Death. 1. Can't even find this one on Wikipedia. Not sure how this happened.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. 3. Not purely vile, but was (so they tell me) so much a 'twist' on traditional romantic comedies that I, not being very familiar with the genre, was totally bored and disoriented.

nightcrawler with jake gyllenhaal from 2014. destined to become a midnite madness movie in your area in the next 5-10 years.
appropriately creepy and awkward. need to watch it again but awarding it an 8.5.

A great sci-fi movie about people living in a parallel world where physics behave differently than in this universe and unlikely events occur one after another. At least this one didn't have a never ending runaway.

Interstellar. A near-ripoff of 2001 with a lot of fridge logic.

Tomorrowland. Theme is far better than the plot, which is about as twisty as a railroad. Cast too small.

20 feet from stardom-documentary about (mostly) 60's and 70's backup singers. the part with merry clayton's backup vocal isolated on the stones "gimme shelter" gave me goosebumps. awesome. an 8.5-9.

muscle shoals-another music documentary but definitely worthwhile and enlightening. an 8.5-9 as well. both on netflix.

The salt of the earth 2014.
Academy award nominee documentary about people and wildlife around the world through the eyes of the photographer Sebastião Salgado and his pictures. (Rwandan genocide, famine in Ethiopia, Kuwaiti oil fires....)
Stunning. I give it a 9.5/10
