Road ride was awesome, got about 2.5 hrs in including an hour solo beforehand. Kicked ass and took named.
I'm currently cleaned up, at work tying up loose ends , and munching on a breakfast burrito and waiting for some friends to meet me here in about an hour for a mtb ride. I'm actually going to work too, in 3...2......

Proud of my fellow Belgian, Greg Van Avermaet, for winning gold in the olympics!
That was probably one of the most exciting races I've ever seen.

Today I did 54.8 miles and 2996 ft climbing on the fixed gear bike.
48-16 gearing and I'm pretty wiped out.

Today I started piecing together a new drivetrain for my TK2 down at the shop. Mine is officially trashed. Crank and ring came stock off a 2009 Jamis Sonik. When I got it, it was in great shape. It has been ridden hard and not taken care of. I have put just a hair under 5400 miles on it, and who knows what the previous owner of the bike had put on. Sucks that the style ring that is on there is no longer available. Damn you FSA!!!!
It is so bad that I am not going to post any pictures of it due to the level of embarrassment on my part. Shark tooth? Sharks would kill to have teeth like this. So. Much. Wear.

78.9 but who's counting?
The funny thing is that the rest of the riders were on road bikes and I was the first up almost every hill.
Granted, these weren't the A group but every time a hill came they just shifted to their 36-28 or whatever they had. I didn't have a choice other than to up my cadence, settle in and go. I've spent a lot of time on the fixed gear bike this past year and it has helped my ability to climb tremendously.
We are not talking mountains here, just very rolling terrain. If I can keep it above 55 or 60 RPM or so then I'm generally alright. At one point I had to zig-zag though.

Those must be some really steep hills. The hills on my route doesnt even last half a mile and I easily get tired trying to get over it. I dont think I can even call it hills... hump maybe, idk.

<3 Olympics. Gymnastics has always been one of my favorites. The things they do are just amazing. And then there's the track cycling of course. Really excited to see what Anna Meares can do this time around.

Yeah I watched some men's high bar stuff. Some of the twists and rotations are insane. I can't believe they can hold on when the generate some much rotating inertia. And the dismounts. I can't even see what they do until they replay it in slow motion.
