Does anyone else think Jan looks tubby?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I would guess if the course was different they would be going for Basso but even Basso said the course looked hand picked for Ulrich.

Man I am going to love pulling for Ivan though...I can't wait for the TdF this year.

HEY DISH GET OLN BACK!!!

and news posted all over the web are no substitute for performance when it counts. Anyway, like many, I am pulling for Jan - he is a great champion. But look at his mid-section and hips in that photo - just looks kinda thick to me. And he's training is Mallorca so unlikely he's got multiple layers on under those tights.

just an observation.
I'll be happier when he's looking like this (only wearing yellow)

The TT's will determine the winner this year. And, both Armstrong and Merckx disagree with you. But hey, good luck!

Tubby?! Geez.

I do wonder how Jan will do with all the pressure of the being the TdF favorite. Armstrong deflected attention away from most other contenders for the good part of a decade.

It's friggin JANUARY. We're ALL tubbier than we'll be in JULY. Lance routinely lost 10+ lbs. every year between Xmas and the Tour. I'll be dropping 10lbs between now and May. I'm starting now - I've dropped a couple of lbs. this month.

Hmmm. I wonder if Jan can lose 5-10lbs. in FIVE+ MONTHs. He's 32 years old, a world class athlete and he'll be riding 500 miles weekly - I THINK HE CAN DO IT!!!!

I'd love to see Jan win the Tdf in 2006. I hope he can pull it off. He should be motivated.
