Gotta say, that's either a deliberate or inadvertent misreading of what he wrote, or you just have a really unique definition of the word "likened".

Yeah, this is a major MUP, the Schuylkill River Trail, in a huge metropolis, Philadelphia. There just happens to be a bar on the trail, and some very inconsiderate donkey perforations who stop at those places. I do have an expectation that people - even in bars - act in a considerate manner. Obviously some don't.

Honestly, I've never used it in conversation because those tend towards discussions of specific paths.

i agree!! It's the avid cyclists that are usually the ones with the attitude problems- holier than thou breaking all the rules "whoo hoo look at me! I'm a cyclist and a bad-ass and renegade! Get out of my way!" Ppppplease....

I reckon you guys should get rid of MUP's.
Lot's of things that hurts people's feelings happen on them, (and then we have to put up with threads detailing those hurt feelings here).

Hmmm... "jerseys with poseur pockets, tight shorts and "clod" shoes that cause them to walk like ducks. Probably some $10,000 bikes in the bunch."
Yup - that's me (except my bikes are not that expensive). I started racing in 1991. I have two National Championships jerseys. I have multiple State Championship jerseys. I have gone from Cat.4 to Cat.1 and raced four years (94-97) on the USPro circuit. My shoes cost more than most high end work boots. I even avoid most group rides because I simply ride faster and harder than most want to and am more comfortable riding on my own or with fellow racers.
I also know that blocking a trail is rude and foul language directed at someone calling out the bad behavior is immature & pathetic. Unfortunately there are too many elitist jackasses in cycling. However, there are also a lot of assumptions being made about how many of them there are out there.
