A friend's family had 5 Yamahas in the garage and once in a while I got to ride one. I wanted a motorcycle so bad when I was 12-15. Didn't get one until I was 26.

Geez, big john - I know that I'm too fat for this sport, but I'm not *that* fat. Pic from the post-ride the other day, just before I rolled out (being towards the edge of the wide-angle shot adds 20 lbs...

Yesterday, while I was painting, it was in the 50's. Tonight the highs are predicted to be in the teens. With snow. Fml.

Also, I have lost 20 lbs. Since I got back on the horse. 237 lbs on Saturday. Dont do the math, I was heavy, let's just leave it at that.

This weekend was weird.
Had a 2+ hour phone call with the owner of a bike shop in SC and was essentially told that I have a position there if I want it.
Pros:
1. Bike shop job(?)
2. Neighbors to DougRNS, quasi-neighbors to Velo Vol
3. No stupid winters
3. Nearby Mt. Mitchell
Cons:
1. Bike shop job(?)
2. 50% pay cut and no benefits
3. Moving across the country is stupid expensive.
4. 3rd worse COVID conditions in the country at the moment
At least I've basically got 2 weeks to decide

Why is Douglas a neighbour and I'm a quasi-neighbour? Depending on where it is, I may be closer than he is.
Incorrect.

Mt Mitchell is in the second half.

I don't know how the money part works for yous, but all other things being kind of equal I would load up the truck and not look back.

Northwestern. Prolly doesn't matter but I don't really want to say any specifics at the moment.
We're leaning that way. To be honest I'm terrified, but maybe I'll get over that soon.

In high school metal shop, I built a minibike frame, bought the wheels, then bought an 80cc Suzuki motorcycle engine to put in it. It's probably a good thing I sold it before completing the project. Later on I worked at a company that put together motorcycles from their crates then delivered them to dealers. The boss had several Honda Z50's that we would short track race in the warehouse. I was 6'3", so it was amusing.

I would worry a bit, simply because this bike boom isn't going to last forever. The bike business is fickle, to say the least.

You would probably be closer as the crow flies, but there are more state borders between SC and Knoxville than there are between SC and NW Metro Atlanta. Hence quasi-neighbor.
