Poweriser.

https://www.poweriser-uk.com/

What's the catch? It allows you to jump over the flatbed or an SUV, run at 20mph.... seriously, what's the catch? Does it require a serious amount of fitness to use - I mean, the stored up energy out of these things has to come from somewhere?

And if it's so good, when is the extra battery powered mine-proof US Military version coming out?

The catch is where he guesses wrong and ends up landing straddle on a railing like that, or smashes his head on a streetlamp and ends up in front of a speeding bus.

It's not stored up energy, just better efficiency over running.
I mean, you're going 20mph on the bike and it's powered by nothing more than your body too.

Would have been fun messing with people during my commute with these

If the possible injuries weren't so gruesome I would totally try those. I think a new sport could get started.

A fall would be brutal. They need an ejection button, so you can try to land on your feet.

Those have been around a while. I remember working in a sports shop 5 years ago and a company demoing them. They were amazingly fun from what I was told.

Kangaroos and gazelles make some of the most efficient use of energy in getting around. Now we can do it too!

Wow. so now when I see people running and I think of how many bones in their body they are smashing, these guys are beating that by crushing their bones and joints at 2-4 times the speed/force. Stupidity prevails again

Looks like a wonderful way to snap your leg in half. They might be fun for just jogging around, but in no time people would be testing the limits and creating a windfall for osteopaths.

Looks like fun to me. Couldn't be any harder on the old joints than 20+ years of skateboarding.
