why ruin a perfectly good shirt? just run w/o a shirt on. and since your date knows more about running, just tell her you don't run much, but you're willing to learn from an expert. if she's willing to ride w/ you, you're not gonna drop her and give her "the look" are you? you'll match your pace to hers to keep it enjoyable for both of you.

Be careful if you cut holes in your shirt for your nipples...I've seen "nipple burn" so bad it caused bleeding (that poor S.O.B.)...so my advice is: bandaids!
