It's done! The LeMond that is!
I just finished installing the saddle and the pedals (stole them off the LOOK-I have another set on the way).
I took her for a spin around the block and everything works smoothly. The bike is awesome! Can't wait for my first real ride! I might ride it to work this week just to break it in.

Very pretty, nice sobered down clean look to it, good setup too.
(don't kill that bear/dog when you do take off, it needs a home too!)

Beautiful bike. I love the color and the classic look with silver-colored components instead of the ubiquitous black so common on new bikes. I can't help but suggesting a silver colored seatpost (maybe an American Classic?) and bars, and maybe some skinwall tires to make it a real timeless classic.
This project is really inspiring though--I would love to include a custom paint job on a project bike of my own. That shop did an outstanding job.

I guess I missed the thread where you described the refurb. I assume it's steel because of the threaded headset, so a few other questions:
What's the original model?
Is the base color paint or powdercoat?
I love the styling with the new LeMond logos and traditional white bands and world champion rainbow borders.

Yes, it is steel, the frame is a 2000 LeMond Zurich. Reynolds 853 steel tubing with a carbon fork and 1" threaded chromoly steerer. The frame was stripped of its original powder coat and the water bottle inserts were replaced with steel inserts (they were aluminum but that was causing some problems with the original finish-dissimilar metal problems). The finish on it now is a primer base coat, painted titanium with white panels and then clear coated over the decals and wet sanded. It really is a top notch paintjob.
The frame was originally blue with white panels and LeMond was spelled in large block letters with red outline. I thought it looked tacky that way though and the old finish was in horrible condition.
I built it up with all Campy Chorus 9spd components except for the headset which is a Chris King grip nut headset. I also wanted an ergo bar, that and the 9spd brifters are really the only modern touches. I could have gone with downtube shifters but I like the functionality of modern shifters better and replacement components will be easier to find.
Wheels are Record hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro rims rolling on Michelin Pro Race 2's.
I am still looking for an alloy seatpost. I just took the carbon one off my LOOK so I could ride it yesterday.

I think it's great; however, I loved the color scheme on my old Y2K red, white and blue Zurich (although the factory paint job was a bit fragile). The old style 32-spoke wheels still go good with traditional looking quill stems--nice classic look.

Well, I took it in to my LBS and weighed the LeMond today during lunch. It weighs 19lbs with pedals, cages and computer. Not exactly a lightweight but not bad.
