Any C&V'r near Saint Charles MO?

I'm visiting my in-laws for a week with my family. There are two bikes here but I need a third so I can ride the trail with my kids. Anyone have one I could borrow for a few days? I'm kind of tall but not at all picky.

I'm no help regarding the bikes. I'm just here to recommend some bike routes.

Specifically, there's a neat ride that takes the Golden Eagle ferry across the Mississippi over to Calhoun county, Illinois, and then take the Brussels ferry across the Illinois river over to the bike trail that links Pere Marquette park to Alton and further south.

A few pics...

a look at the Golden Eagle ferry, with the Illinois shore in the background.

the Brussels ferry..

I live in central Illinois now, but lived in the St. Louis area for many years, and worked in St. Charles (for that aerospace company that got bought by Boeing).

I'm in central Illinois and have a few 24 or 25" bikes, one of which you could borrow.

Thanks Steve. I've been on at least one of those ferries and stayed at Pere Marquette 3 years ago. It's a very cool area.

My father in law worked for the same company bought by Boeing, I believe

I appreciate the offer and those big frames would work well, esp the 24. Unfortunately Peoria is further than I'll be able to swing. Thanks though!

I struck out with a loaner but but picked up this Yakota redwood city on fb for $30. It's a pretty nice bike, there's a lot of good stuff for sale on FB here.

that would be good for the crushed limestone Katy trail and the various greenway paths/routes that link up. In the pre-covid era,I did a little loop from Creve Coeur park across the Page avenue bridge, down to the I-64 bridge, and back through west St. Louis county. This was one of the signs at a junction with the Katy trail...

and a pic from that section of the Katy trail, just to help out the tourism business....

We were right there yesterday. Rode 12 miles ... Took us from the heritage museum down to the page ave ext bridge then went up past the arena into downtown st Charles. On the way back my kids were about 3x faster than I was climbing up the neverending hills.

Here's a pic on main street
