"Likes" or "Points" or members
I'd like to offer a suggestion...How about having some sort of "points" for members ? I've seen it in other forums where other members can like other member's posts...Kind of like an appreciation for a post (rather than having to make a reply which can clog up space)...There have been many threads that I have read through as an observer where I would have liked to "like" or "give credit" to some posts which I could not...I would have like to let that person know my apprecciation rather than interrupting the thread with a message for that....Just my 2 cents...thanks, RB

Hmmm... I've been quoted a bunch of times, and mentioned a bunch of times (have the numbers been reset sometime?)
I take those Facebook style "likes" with a grain of salt. Actually, I try to shut off Facebook whenever possible.
Comments are nice (beyond the occasional +1)

"Likes" or "Points" [for] members
Apropos of this thread, I once started a now-closed thread, “Bike Forums Hall of Fame.”
Not to nominate myself, or render a self-proposed ”like,” but I have posted on another now-closed thread:
I thought it would be nice to know, by popular acclaim, just who are the most savvy, knowledgeable, and reliable subscribers to Bike Forums.
After about 10 years here I have my preferences (and my own choices for the ones I consider “pills,” who are nonetheless fun to read).
I'd like to offer a suggestion...How about having some sort of "points" for members ? I've seen it in other forums where other members can like other member's posts...Kind of like an appreciation for a post (rather than having to make a reply which can clog up space)...

Head over to MFP and see what they've got in their forum. Evidently they can change their "like" options to several different things. One of their choices is a little questionable (no one seems sure what it means) but others aren't bad.
