Keep in mind, that a 14 ga. nipple will screw on to a 15 ga. spoke. Then strip when tension is applied.
Odds are that all your spokes use 14 ga. nipples unless on an old 10 speed.

Aargh! I once worked at a shop in which somebody intermixed 14 and 15 ga. nipples in the same can. Most of the nipples were 14 ga. because that's what most nipples are. Every once in awhile, however, I'd struggle with one that wouldn't thread on. PITA.

If I had known for sure who had done it I would have done the world a service by taking the old dull cable cutters and making sure he'd never reproduce.
