Looking for a water bottle with a flip-top lid
I have a few water bottles, but they have the standard nipple lid. The get gross over time, are a pain to clean, and I want to pour water down my throat rather than suck or squeeze. So I'm looking for a bottle with a flip top lid, and preferably one that makes a tight seal so it doesn't leak everywhere.
Something like this:
I did some Google searches and mostly found companies that only sell them in bulk. Also found a Nalgene one that's not cycle-specific, but reviews said they leak like crazy and the lid breaks.
Do any of you have a bottle like this or can tell me where to get one?

I've seen that type of sports bottle in Walgreens. Ordinary water bottles with flip tops that look like they'd fit most bottle cages. No idea whether the caps remain in place while riding.

Man. Total flashback to the days when I firs started riding seriously as an adult. The standard bottles I used had both a nipple and a flip top lid to fill them. Think I may still have a newer one that I got at a bike event several years ago, but I don't see them often.

I loved the POWERADE 791ml bottles because they had a flip lid that really sealed the spout of the bottle yet were easily flipped open with just a finger or thumb. I started telling people about them an dang if POWERADE didn't change to a different type of lid that was a lot less useful.

I saw some at Home Depot and at ShopRite (local grocery): Rubbermaid's RefillReuse, UPC 071691429111, and Hydration Bottle, UPC 071691453543; Contigo's Jackson UPC 815150017576. www.goContigo.com
Seems much better than getting a mouthful of dirt with your water. Not sure how the fit is with the cages, but I expect that they all would work.

I have a few like the one in the first post and they are horrible. The lids are difficult to open and over time don't make a tight seal so you leak water as you ride.

These Nalgene are the best. They are made for MTB.

Yup, yup , Best design I've found so far for damp/cool conditions riding, these go into my bottle cages.
Extremely tough domed lid (I believe it's made of Polycarbonate/Lexan plastic), the bottle survived being 'LAUNCHED' out of my Topeak rack trunk bag rear water bottle 'pouch' at 25+ mph (first and last time I carried a full water bottle in it).
From the deep scarring evident, the dome took the brunt of the impact when it hit the the asphalt. Still use the bottle, the damage on the lid I consider honorable battle scars of the 'Commuter Wars'.
Aside from the brilliantly designed and implemented lid, the drinking valve is an 'old design'. While being admirably leak resistant with the dome in the closed position, the valve is 'finicky', frustratingly easy to close accidentally while drinking.
If I could find a way to graft the Nalgene bottle's dome onto a 'Camelback Podium Big Chill' it would be perfect.
