Honestly? I was so excited to be out there that I didn't really feel any fear besides what was stemming from how wobbly I was riding. Looking back for traffic is really tough because my neck still doesn't have full range of motion.

You're telling me. I had a bulged disc about 9 years ago that pinched off a nerve cluster, causing tingling and shooting pains in my left arm. They gave me a bunch of NSAIDs and narcotics to blunt the pain, but eventually it shut down my intestines and put me in the hospital for a week. On the positive side, the morphine they gave me and the position in the bed resolved the back issue. I did have to put up with IV feeding and a tube down my nose, but after months of dealing with the sensation of someone stabbing you in the elbow with a rusty knife, it wasn't so bad.

Since then, I've been really conservative with my pain meds. The sooner I can function without these, the better. Right now, they're a necessary evil, because without them I'm an invalid.

Dude, you're my hero. Take it slow, but welcome back. In the weeks after my auto accident TBI last October, the bike was one thing that got me back into some sort of normalcy.

Congratulations BMC..

As for me, today's ride will include a stop for the funeral of a former teammate who was hit by a car two weeks ago and died 10-days later. He was a well-liked guy, and a bunch of us are riding together to the funeral.

Common mistake. shovelhd was referring to Jesus H Christ's less well known brother, Jesus F Christ, who was an accident and injury lawyer in Medea.

"Stoned unfairly? Crucified by mistake? Better call Jesus F Christ!"

Driving down the street, I saw someone crash this car into a pole:

They just made a right turn, kept turning, and went off the road into a pole at about 20 mph. Either they were texting or it was someones kid that didn't know how to drive.

I felt bad for the car. Still driveable but the hood and bumper were beat up pretty bad.

I spent two years in religious high school saying the lord's prayer every morning thinking it was "Harold be thy name". I learned shortly after that everyone else in the room was saying a different word, but never bothered to find out which one.

Also, ferret, seeing a Urraco is quite a rare feat, and you got to see one crash. Legend status.

There's a comedian with a routine around The Pledge of Allegiance.

"...and to the rebublic, for Wigistan, one nation under God"

"dude, it's not 'for Wigistan,' dumbass. It's 'for midget Stan!'"
