Looking for a low profile helmet

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looking for a low profile helmet

I want to get a new helmet. Currently I wear a cannondale cypher and I'm looking for something smaller and if it's lighter, that would be a nice fringe benefit. I bought a giro prolight online and it showed up yesterday. I was thrilled and thought it was going to be "the one". Surely a helmet as light as this must be super low profile...not. It was actually larger than the cypher and made my head look even mushroomier than before.
All that being said, I'd appreciate suggestions or recommendations for what you have found to be the smallest, most low profile helmets out there.

I've never seen a Giro Prolight in person, but for Lightweight.. I like the Limar 777 and the Kask Mojito.

I went with a Specialized Evade, it's the smallest profile that I can find. I'm right on the cusp between medium and large, if I need to wear anything under the helmet I need a large, and most of the non-aero helmets make me look like a mushroom as well.

I just ordered a Giro Synthe and it's smallish but not like the Evade. The Cinder also looks smallish and is cheaper than the Synthe.

I have a Limar 777 that I use, along with a Cannondale Teramo. They are equally comfortable. As for low profile, that is a hard one. Aesthetically, I think both helmets look about as good on my head as any I have used, and better than others. That said, I wouldn't say either looks great, just not terrible.

Funny, I've always thought the Evade looks gigantic.

Not positive this is absolutely low profile, but if I were buying a helmet today, this is what I would be buying...

I'm in the same boat regarding size, and I wear a halo skullcap under my helmet.

Anyone willing to post a pic wearing your helmet so I can get an idea of size?

I just got an evade in medium. I can try and take a pic later. I feel like it fits my head less mushroom like than my giro rivale

I'm convinced that no helmet is going to keep my head from looking like a mushroom, but I keep a searchin'.

I tried one on, makes you look like the creature from Alien. But for the OP, the Kask Mojito is good low profile, same goes for the Specialized Propero, which I have 2 and like better than the S3 and the current Prevail. I like Spesh helmets, fit me great, no mushroom look and I love their straps except on the Prevail and S3 the straps anchor in the helmet itself and not up inside so they stick out from the side of your face and can flap around at high speed when not wearing glasses.

+1 for Kask Mojito. I actually bought Specialized Propero first and returned it as for me it was quite the opposite to "low profile", felt huge on my head and looked the part.

Really? What size do you wear? I too have a Propero, and it is rather mushroom-ish. Couldn't find a Mojito to try on at the last Kask dealer that I'd visited, though.

The top end Catlike helmets are quite low profile. I also have a MET Manta which is as well. To my eye it is far more subtle and better looking than most of the other aero helmets.
Evade and Ballista may have a low profile from the front but from any other angle give quite the "alien head" appearance.
