Inline Cable Adjusters for brakes?
I built up a Trek 750 and put drop bars on it. Originally it had flat bars/riser bars and levers. it had a small barrel adjuster in the lever. Road levers on the drop bars have nothings. It has canti brakes which a pain to adjust. There is NO adjustment at this time and i am wondering if you could use inline cable adjusters. I dont know how much adjustment they have. IT likely woudnt be more than a few mm probably due to most being made for indexed shifting. DO they make these for 5mm housing and that can adjust a fair bit like a normal barrel adjuster on a lever or brake caliper?
Id like a bit of adjustment to relax the pads or pull them in just a bit to take up lever slack without undoing cables and needing 6 hands in the process.

There had been a thread on inline adjusters just recently. While it was focused od shift cables, it should get you started.

I believe if you were to read the fine print on some of the inline adjuster instructions you'd see a liability covering exclusion for brake use. Still cable adjusters are a nice option and I've had no issues with the few I've installed on a brake system. Andy

You may be able to install a barrel adjuster on the brake end of the housing on the cable stop bracket. The last bike I had with cantis didn't have enough room on the front (short head tube), and that was a PITA for over 20 years.

yeah...the rear will have that problem for sure. It uses a "wide" yolk already and the cable pull stops just before hitting the cable stop. Id have to put any kind of adjuster up near the head tube somewhere.

You could adjust at the brake connection but that is a bit of a pain.
